To celebrate the release of my debut novel, The First Principle, I’ll be conducting character interviews each week for the next month. First up is heroine Vivica Wilkins who is sixteen years old and lives in the Great Lakes Region of the United Regions of North America. It’s her picture that’s on the book’s cover.
Here’s what Vivica had to say when I asked her to come up with four facts and a fib.
1.) I taught myself how to be a hacker.
I took a programming class when I started high school. Since I got bored with that pretty quickly, I started researching hacking and learned from there.
2.) I have a tattoo of a lily on my shoulder.
Last year when I was spending the night with my friend Tindra, we sneaked out of her parents’ house, avoided my bodyguard Bobby who was keeping watch, and went to get inked.
3.) My favorite holiday is New Year’s Eve.
My mother has a private celebration with friends and extended family. It’s way more casual than the governor’s ball she has every spring. We have a buffet full of healthy, government-approved foods, and at midnight there’s a light show that’s televised throughout our region. Usually a famous band provides live music for the light show.
4.) I hate bananas.
It’s not just the flavor that grosses me out. The texture’s weird too. When I was six, I had a substitute nanny who made me eat a banana at lunch. I threw up. My mother ordered our cook never to buy them or make anything with them again.
5.) My favorite band is the Undercover Renegades.
Tindra and I have been to five of their concerts. One time my mother even snagged backstage passes for us. We took some great pics with the band. For the longest time I had the biggest crush on the lead singer, Xylander. I still think he’s hot.

Maybe is she ever tried a fresh banana, picked ripe from the tree. The texture is firm and the flavor is perfect. Eat one of those and the picked-green-ripen-on-the-counter type never satisfy again. 😉

“if” not “is” – oops!

Well, that kind of banana sounds good to me. I don’t think Vivica will give them a chance though! 🙂
