In celebration of the release of The First Principle, I’m spending the next several weeks interviewing characters. Check out my interviews with Vivica and Drake.
This week I’m talking with Ben Lagarde, Vivica’s friend (and ex-boyfriend). Here’s what he said when I asked him to come up with four facts and a fib.
1.) I broke my arm when I was ten.
My friends and I were playing war in the back yard, and I climbed a tree to get away from my buddy who was chasing me. And, yeah, I fell out. At least that’s what everyone says. I don’t remember because I had a concussion and passed out from the pain. Real manly, I know.
2.) I’m a good cook.
My specialty is duck l’orange. One Christmas my mom even let me make it for our family dinner, and I didn’t even mess it up. That was pretty cool of her to risk dinner.
3.) I love math.
Maybe because it’s always come easy for me. I’m ready to tackle calculus.
4.) My favorite holiday is Easter.
Most people in my country pretend the real meaning behind it doesn’t exist because Jesus Christ dying on a cross is way too divisive. Instead, they’d rather focus on eggs, candy, and bunnies. I actually like the reminder that Jesus died for my sins. Believe me, I have plenty that need forgiving!
5.) My favorite food is pepperoni pizza.
I don’t get it as often as I’d like because of the stupid government restrictions on fatty foods.
Thanks, Ben. Next week we’ll hear from Governor Genevieve Wilkins.
